Young Women's Conference in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics
For the last 20 years, the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory has hosted the The Young Women's Conference in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, which introduces middle-school and high-school-aged girls to the wide breadth of careers available to them in these fields. This year the Young Women's Conference will be held virtually, co-hosted on the West Coast by the DIII-D National Fusion Facility. Prominent female scientists and engineers from around the country will spend the day with the attendees in a variety of formats that includes small-group presentations, a keynote address, and a chemistry demo. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact one-on-one with women in STEM fields to learn all about different scientific facilities, the research done there, the careers doing that research, and the scientists and engineers who have those careers!
Programming is duplicated in two blocks, one from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM ET and another from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM PT, with a keynote at 10:20 AM ET / 1:20 PM PT. Attendees are welcome to log in at any time. You can view and download the agenda at https://www.pppl.gov/young-womens-conference-science-technology-enginee…
