Salk Education Outreach EXPO Day Volunteer
What is it?
The San Diego Festival of Science and Engineering is a ten-day educational event throughout San Diego with interactive demonstrations, hands-on activities, and speakers to engage kids and families in all that is STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). The week kicks off with its largest event, Expo Day, at Petco Park.
How can I help?
We are looking for approximately 8 volunteers per shift! We will be running our popular Salk DNA Extraction booth, which is so much fun and only requires 5 minutes of training beforehand (plus we will send you a video to watch before the event that will walk you through the activity). Last year we did over 600 extractions with the San Diego community, please help us beat that next year! We recommend checking out the Expo after your shift to see the AMAZING science and engineering happening in San Diego.
Join us for a particular shift- 9:30a-11:45a, 11:15a-1:15p, 1:00p-3:15p or 2:45p-5:00p
