Ellen Potter Research Connections For Teachers Symposium
The 3rd annual Ellen Potter Research Connections For Teachers Symposium is Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 8:30AM-3PM.
Teachers attend scientific talks from senior researchers at the Salk in a seminar environment, then collaborate with colleagues to apply what they have learned to NGSS-aligned lesson plans on the topics of engineering, climate change, sustainability, and human impact.
This year's theme is "Harnessing Plants for the Classroom", focusing on Salk's new "Harnessing Plants" initiative taken up by our world-renowned plant biologists. This initiative is collaboration between our plant biologists to tackle the issues of climate change and food security that face our future.
This year's speakers will be Dr. Joe Ecker, Dr. Wolfgang Busch, and Dr. Joe Noel!
